Biography

I know what it’s like to struggle financially. I grew up in a tiny terrace house in south-east London with my mum and two older brothers in the 1970s and early 1980s. Money was always tight and we lived in a constant state of financial distress and worry.

I had my own financial struggles in my early 20s, when a combination of uncontrolled spending and the property downturn in the early 1990s caused me to be deep in debt.

I eventually managed to learn the skills to master money, which enabled me to achieve financial independence when I was 48. I now work because I want to, not because I have to.
